“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:11
The devil’s schemes don’t change a lot. He reaches into his old bag of tricks and trips up the believer time and time again.
If this is true, then why do we fall? If we can figure out his method, then why can’t we see it coming and preemptively cry, “Ha! Caught you!”
There are a few reasons, but let’s consider one…we’re not appropriately dressed for battle!
Can you imagine a soldier facing the enemy without a piece of his gear? Without a helmet or a weapon?
We’re in battle daily with our enemy and many are trying to fight for their life without their armor on.
Taking a stand against the devil requires that we be “fully” dressed for battle. Missing pieces only grant opportunities for the opponent to strike, and strike he will.
We need it all;
The belt of truth,
The breastplate of righteousness ,
Feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace,
The shield of faith,
The helmet of salvation,
The sword of the Spirit,
and continual
Prayer and alertness.
So, Friends, are we “fully dressed” and ready for battle? Double check your list and be sure not to miss any pieces. Our victorious living depends on it!
